Migrating Photo CMS

| | Comments (1)

Due to various bugs and kinks and feature gaps that I am sick of ignorning, I have decided to migrate my photo management system from Coppermine to Gallery2. This means it may be quiet around here for a while since I have yet to figure out a fast way to migrate all of my photos. The manual process isn't as tedious as I thought, so I'm taking the opportunity to build and arrange my galleries in a way that makes a bit more sense than what I currently have setup. I'm also using it as an opportunity to pull in some old galleries that I have had sitting on Webshots since 2002.

I hope to go live with it before too long, but in the meantime I'm not going to be putting up new photos into my Coppermine galleries. This is kind of a 'down time' of year for me as far as getting out on the trail, so it will be nice to have it all pretty and organized by the time I really hit the trail this summer (and there is nothing like staring at old photos to make me want to get out there and take more).

You'll love Gallery2. I've been using it for some time now and it's worked well on my site. I'm not sure how it integrates with MT since I use Wordpress, but I'm sure that there is a plugin module out there somewhere. Let me know if you need help.
