Operation Thanksgiving

Once again I find myself in the final planning stages of our annual Thanksgiving Desert Road Trip.  This trip always creeps up on me so quickly.  First it's Halloween, then my Birthday, and then all of a sudden I find myself in the middle of the desert on Thanksgiving ("Punch punch punch!", in the words of Iron Chef Morimoto).

This year our planned stops include Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Death Valley National Parks, with 40 hours of Las Vegas hedonism shoved in the middle.  It'll only take one trip to the Bellagio buffet to offset the healthy hiking we have planned.  As always, I'll be back here after the trip with the best of hundreds of photos to share.

You may have noticed a new little feature in the upper left hand corner of the site.  It's my Twitter feed, a fun little Web 2.0 toy that lets me broadcast the mundane details of my life to the rest of the world.  I can text updates to my Twitter feed from my cell phone, so even when I'm on the road I can share the exciting moments with everyone on my website and my Facebook profile.  If I had a camera on my cell I could even text live photos from the backcountry, assuming the signal was strong enough to get the message through.  Isn't the Internet great?
