On Saturday David and I dayhiked and geocached at Uvas Canyon County Park. This is a small park tucked away in the hills to the southwest of San Jose. It is a beautiful canyon filled with cascades and waterfalls. I thought of visiting last fall, but decided it would be smart to wait until the spring – waterfalls aren’t that impressive when there is no water flowing. It was a smart choice – with the rain that fell this winter the falls were all impressive. More impressive was the lack of crowds. We ran into a few families around the trailhead and at a couple of places along the trail, but for a bay area park on a sunny Saturday in spring, it was quiet.
